I have been procrastinating and feeling stuck with my content creation endeavor.
[5:00] Before even writing the first line. Ask yourself, "What's the feeling you want your viewer to walk away with?"
I want someone who feels like their life isn't interesting enough to film to realize they've been looking at it all wrong.
1. Hook - Make them feel something even before they decide to stay!
[5:23] "What matters is honesty: the right viewer should hear your first line and think, 'This person gets it,' or feel curious enough that they need the next line."
[5:32] Cinematic Scene Hook - Places the viewer inside a vivid moment before context! eg. Every year I sit at the same spot in my grandma's house. Same photo album. Same pages.
[5:37] Contrarian/Challenge Hook - Challenges a common belief or behavior! eg. My advice? Stop trying to keep up.
[5:40] Curiosity Gap Hook - Creates an open loop that demands closure! eg. There's one thing I do every time I'm bored.
[5:44] Specific Journey Hook - Starts a real lifeline with a specific event! eg. Three months ago I launched my first digital product: a lut pack.
"There are many hook formula on the internet, but the ones that work best is something you would actually say to a friend in real life."
2. What happened - [5:57] Think of it like the opening scene of a film!
You don't start with the character's entire life. You start with the moment right before everything changes. The only way to do that is to make it very specific!
Instead of time that's vague, use time that's exact. For example, "a while ago" > "6 months ago"...
Instead of results that are general, use numbers. For example, "one of my videos did well" > "one of my videos hit 3 million views"...
Instead of actions that are bored, use physical details. For example, "I stopped creating" > "I barely touch my camera"...
Instead of naming the emotion, describe what it actually felt like. For example, "I felt lost" > "I kept starting things I couldn't finish"...
3. Turning Point - [6:33] The moment everything shifted!
